Becoming a Christian

We live in a broken world. This brokenness is seen in suffering, violence, poverty, pain, and death. This brokenness causes us to search for a way to make LIFE work.

In contrast, God’s original design was good. (Gen. 1:31) Everything was in harmony, and our purpose was to worship God.

Life does not work properly when we do not worship God and when we selfishly insist on our own desires. The Bible calls this sin, and all people fall into this trap. Sin brings death. (Rom. 1:25, 3:23, 6:23)

Because of God’s love for us, He did not leave us in our brokenness. Jesus, God in human flesh, came and lived a perfect life, which we could not do, and He died the sinners death we deserve. (Jn. 3:16, 1 Cor. 15:3-4)

Simply, hearing is not enough. You must admit your sins and stop trusting yourself, but trust in
God alone, who will forgive your sins. (Eph. 2:8-9)

When God restores our relationship to Him, we begin to discover meaning and purpose for our
lives.
